Who we are
Urban Sketch is a development and advisory business that works where planning complexity, design ambition, and commercial reality intersect. We are a small, senior team with direct experience across the full development cycle, from site acquisition and planning strategy through to procurement, delivery, and exit.
Our principals have led schemes from both sides of the table, in local government and in the private sector. That means we understand what officers, members, funders, and communities each need to see before a scheme can move, and we shape our projects accordingly from day one.
Our approach
We back schemes we believe in, often as co-investors. Design quality and planning viability are not trade-offs for us, they are the same question. We work best on projects where the conventional answer is not good enough: awkward sites, contested planning environments, partnerships that need structuring carefully.
We keep our project list short on purpose. Every scheme gets principal-level attention for its whole life, and we measure ourselves on what gets built and how it performs, not on the size of our pipeline.
